Coronavirus Update

WE CAN OPEN NOW!!
HOORAY!!

Hello all,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.  Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.  We are so happy that we are finally being allowed to begin normal operations and WE WILL BE CALLING YOU to schedule an appointment.  If you are a new patient looking to schedule an appointment, please call our office at 585-344-0775.  We are excited and looking forward to meeting you.

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same:  our commitment to your orthodontic care and your safety.  We want you to know that our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We follow and subscribe to these agencies because your safety is of the utmost importance to us.  Our affiliation with these organizations ensures that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance.

Infection control has always been a top priority, and you may have noticed this during your visits to our office.  We have established infection control processes for the safety and comfort of our patients and for our own protection as well.  We have added some safety controls on top of our normal procedures for added precaution and want to make sure you know what to expect as you return to see us.

We have been hard at work getting our office ready for you and we look forward to welcoming you!  We are putting forth this guideline to help streamline your upcoming visits.  Please read this carefully and follow all instructions for your safety and the safety of others.  Before we were ordered to shut down, we instituted some procedures which we are carrying forward for the foreseeable future.

Please arrive at the office at your given appointment time and call the office to let us know you have arrived.  Please provide a number at which we can reach you.  Once everything has been prepared for your appointment, we will call you/your child (hereafter you refers to you or your child) to ask some necessary health screening questions prior to entering the office.  We ask that only the patient come in for their appointment (except for certain procedures such as new patient exams, specific consultations, etc. which require parental accompaniment) to allow us to maintain proper social distancing.  Only patients will be allowed to enter the office for appointments unless prior arrangements are made.  Please let us know if you feel you need to accompany your child.  Once you have entered the office, we will take your temperature, have you use hand sanitizer, and rinse with either 1% hydrogen peroxide or Listerine before being treated.  You then will be escorted to the treatment chair.  Patients are asked to wear a mask to and in the office at all times except when you are in the treatment chair.  Also be sure to brush your teeth well at home before coming, as our brush station will be closed.  It would also be helpful if you could provide your child with some options for their next appointment.

After your appointment you will be requested to place your mask back on while you are checking out.  Please call us before your appointment if you are not feeling well and/or have a fever above 100.4°, or have been exposed to anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, so that we may reschedule your appointment.  Additionally, if you become ill within 14 days after your appointment, please contact the office to let us know.  Please put others’ well being at the forefront if you are not feeling well.  When we call to schedule your appointment, let us know if you have anything loose or broken so we may schedule the appropriate amount of time.  Also, please be patient!  We will be maintaining the same schedule order from when we shut down and will make every attempt to get everyone back in as soon as possible.

Thank you all for all the kind words we have received during this pandemic.  It is so heartwarming to receive such support.  We are so grateful to have you as patients and are really looking forward to seeing each of you again soon.

Sincerely,

Drs. Salmon, deSa and Team
